A Little Help Getting into the Fabulous Trend of Espresso Coffee

Espresso coffee is showing up in hotels, airports, book stores and shopping malls. This trend started in the American west coast, in places like San Francisco and Seattle. The movement has since made it’s way to Europe. It is true, traditional espresso came from Europe, but you could only get it in Italian restaurants.

Now, there are several companies offering home espresso machines that are capable of making restaurant style espresso, with the right accessories. One of those accessories is a burr grinder, capable of grinding very fine coffee while producing very little heat to preserve the taste.

Other accessories include a stainless steel cup for steaming milk, little cups and saucers for serving, and distilled water on hand. Distilled water will not clog your machines pumps with calcium and lime deposits, and it makes better tasting espresso.

Perhaps you just want to go to the local coffeehouse and enjoy espresso, and espresso based beverages. There are still some things that you should know. The standard espresso is a very short drink, about one and a half ounces, and it is served in tiny cups. If you want a larger espresso, you should order a double espresso. A double is not double strength, just double size. If you are the type of person who likes your espresso very strong you should order a ristretto, which is double strength espresso.

This espresso machine/coffee center is lauded by most users and reviewers alike - and I should hope so with a price tag that usually runs around $600. If you have a passion for coffee, though, this might be just the machine you need, and would probably even work well in a small coffee house.
