Victoria Arduino Athena Classic 3-Group Espresso Machine
The Victoria Arduino range of espresso machines harks back to the 1940s, when the lever-style coffee machine was much in vogue. Having retained the old-world charm of the lever-style machines, the Victoria Arduino Athena Classic 3-group espresso machine is perfect for coffee bars courtesy its 3700 watts, 18 liters boiler. And it also creates a delightfully quaint ambience with its chrome/brass/copper finish and old-fashioned levers.
The copper boiler comes with a lifetime warranty, and the Athena Classic 3-group also has large, easy to use knobs to operate hot water and steam wands, in addition to two 360° swivel type steam arms and one hot water faucet. It also has an indirect drain system, with a 6 ½ flexible tubing provided with the machine.
In general, the Athena Classic line features a curved back panel, typical of cars in the first decades of the 20th century. The lever mechanism evokes the coffee-preparation techniques of the 1940s, and the Athena Classic 3-groups design derives from the texture of handheld hammer strikes that create a light effect similar to that of mother-of-pearl.
The most attractive feature of the Athena Classic 3-group, however, is that it can be operated without electricity, which makes it perfect for locations that do not receive a steady power supply. However, it runs with electric power as well, obviously!
To start the extraction, the lever is pulled down and then released. The pressure required for extraction is generated through mechanical means, thus removing the need for an electric pump. The espresso machine is handcrafted and made of highly polished and heavy gauge solid brass, copper, or chrome-plated steel, with a lacquer finish to eliminate tarnishing.
